Welcome friends to North Carolina vacations. We were born today and thought we'd open this joint with a warm hello. Expect a lot from this site over the next year where we try and give you, the web public, a perfect view of vacationing in North Carolina. We'll be focusing on all seasons as we add stories and information about travels to North Carolina. Our state is big and has a lot to offer the unsuspecting traveler, may your research be quenched in our website.
Winter is fastly approaching and we'd like to turn your attention to the wonderful art of strapping planks of various sizes to your feet, climbing a hill covered in snow and letting gravity take you on a ride. We're talking about skiing and snowboarding of course and North Carolina is the perfect spot to visit. Of course there are a total of seven ski resorts located across North Carolina. Best of all they are surprisingly affordable destinations which makes this state such a wonderful place to plan a Winter vacation. North Carolina is home to four National Forests: Pisgah, Nantahala, Uwharrie, and Croatan. Ten national parks call North Carolina their home: Appalachian National Scenic Trail, The Blue Ridge Parkway, Capre hatteras National Seashore, Cape Lookout Mational Seashore, Carl Sandburg Home national Historic Site, Fort Raleigh National Historic Site, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Guilford Courthouse National Military Park, Moores Creek National Battlefield, and the Wright Brothers National Memorial. We will be featuring all of our parks and forests in a seperate story in the near future.
The votes are in, we hosted an online poll last year of your favorite vacation spot in North Carolina and it was a close win for Beech Mountain, North Carolina. Voters remarked the cool Summer air and warm people make Beech Mountain a memorable trip for the whole family all year long. Congrats Beech Mountain!
