Autumn at Oz atop Beech Mountain, North Carolina is a staple tradition with many families seeking a nostalgic stroll down the Yellow Brick Road. Emerald Mountain comes to life every year on Beech Mountain for the Autumn at Oz celebration.

The 2006 Autumn at Oz will be Oct 7-8 2006; 10:00 - 5:00 p.m. Guests can expect a full tour of Aunt Em's and Uncle Henry's farm and meet Dorothy and friends along the Yellow Brick Road. The tour takes about 2 hours, and may be taken any time from 10am - 5pm. There will be a mini-museum to visit and artifacts to share.
This year's special guests of honor will be Carl Slover, Munchkin Trumpeter, and Donna Stewart Hardaway, Child Munchkin from the 1939 movie. Entertainment provided by The CorkLickers, Moonshine Racers, and Sassagrass bands, with Magic Shows in between. There will be face painting, food treats, and special Oz concessions in "Kansas". New and old trivia will be available for purchase, with part of the money going back into upkeep and restorations. Visitors can park in the meadows (Beech Mountain Town Hall) and walk, or catch the shuttle, up to the private garden of OZ.
