With over 200 years of Euro-american history under its belt. Blackbeard, the Pirate, roamed the NC coast for much of his life. His flagship, the Queen Anne's Revenge, was discovered in the late 1990s just off the coast and items salvaged from the shipwreck are on display at the North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort.
